Diabetes

Diabetes is defined as a disorder of metabolism, which causes a sufferer to feel excessively and continuously thirsty. A diabetes sufferer also find themselves constantly needing to urinate. The reason behind this is an excessive level of blood sugar which occurs in either of two ways:
There is insufficient insulin to convert the sugar to something the body can cope better with. An individual who has this is classified as type 1 diabetic.
A type 2 diabetic is someone who has insulin, but not enough of it is present to tackle the sugar levels present in the blood to bring it down to a level which the medical professionals feel is within a considered norm.
There are various reasons, which are believed to lead to onset of diabetes, and genetics is one of them.
Louise Haye is a metaphysical teacher, who in 1981 qualified as a science of mind minister, she has written a number of books which relate to healing. According to her most illnesses and the body at disease has an explainable reason. This is how she reasons the condition of diabetes:
“There are several patterns relating to diabetes that shows up in people: a feeling that they don’t deserve to have their needs met and that they have no sweetness or joy in their lives; feeling like martyrs due to childhood neglect; and worry, anxiety, and/or fears about survival.”
Her advice to best deal with it is to have love flowing from the heart enveloping our being. That love resides within us. Louise Haye encourages a sufferer to stand in front of a mirror and say the following: I love you, I really, really love you!” She says doing this would bring sweetness and joy back into the lives of a sufferer, and the body would balance out.
This seems a bit way out but before you dismiss it, if you draw on the teachings of many eastern philosophies, we suddenly become aware that there is a reasoning driving the thought that emotional patterns can result in illness. Diabetes is no exception. There are several energy centers which make up the body. The condition of diabetes is believed to be controlled by the Solar Plexus chakra (third chakra/Manipura), responsible for energizing the body, giving it vitality. It is the centre of our willpower, our self control, and when it is depleted, it can leave an individual feeling powerless and low in self esteem. Associated with the element of fire, a vibrant third chakra, is seen in self confidence which we can relate as part of us within a group. The physical attributes of the Solar Plexus chakra align with digestion and metabolism, which involves the liver, the gall bladder, the spleen and the pancreas. Therefore, a diagnoses of diabetes, implies an imbalance of the third chakra.
On a physical level it coordinates the digestive system and metabolism, liver, gallbladder, spleen and pancreas so that diabetes and all problems with the intestines are related to this third chakra.
Working to help diabetes using this philosophy of the chakras involves us repairing the Solar plexus. This information I will introduce in a future blog. In the meantime if you want to read more about the philosophy, behind this explanation then here are some links: Reiki and Colour Healing.
