Symptom - Allergic response to foods, environment and other factors.
Our immune system is our first line of defense to the outside world. It is our bodies natural way of ensuring we are kept well. Usually the sneezing and inflammation are the only way our conscious mind is able to process the fact that some invisible germ is trying to invade our bodies. Mostly germs come and go and our immunology rejects them without us needing to know its happening. Occasionally, we catch a strain of flu we havent encountered before and while our immune system is fighting it we may become aware of feeling unwell.
sometimes however, our immune systems become oversensitive and go into massive overdrive, and in the process of fighting an invisible invader it doesnt realise its actually causing us potential harm, as in say for example, excessive reactions to nuts, where airways can close through extreme swellings. These immune responses are referred to as allergic reactions. Hay fever is another example of this. When balanced the immune system keeps us healthy and strong, able to fight and combat pathogens, but stresses of all kinds, physical overwork, lack of sleep, prolonged emotional upset or sudden shock or psychological trauma, can lead to an oversensitive or impaired immune system.
We can boost the immune system through good nutrition, exercise and staying calm in the face of stress, but sometimes we need additional help with this.
Manual Lymphatic Drainage Massage works directly upon the immune system, by encouraging flow of lymphatic tissue and removing stagnant lymph which can cause the body to feel overloaded and overwhelmed.
Craniosacral therapy works to calm nervous responses which can cause the immune system to go into overdrive.
